Colle dell’Assietta is the sixth 'pass' on the Assietta ridge route from Sestriere side between Colle Lauson / Testa dell’Assietta and the road junction with Colle delle Finestre.

From Testa dell'Assietta, it is a short ride down to the colle. From Colle delle Finestre road, it is the longest and highest climb (around 12 km distance for a 600 m climb).

The stretch from Colle dell’Assietta to the road junction with Colle delle Finestre has a fascinating ambiguous quality. On one side, it is a track on the south-eastern slope of the ridge with partly breath-taking scenery of both the landscape and the route design. On the other side, the gravel road is mostly very rough with dented mother rock in the middle of the track and loads of rocks on both sides - basically, it is rideable with all care taken to prevent seismic shakes and punctures.
