The north road is the more major route, but has more opportunities for refreshment, especially at the village of La Palud, which is also near the highest point, but also there is usually a buvette at the Point Sublime, which is a superb viewpoint slightly off the road.

Go north for the easier ride, south for a challenge, and don't miss out on the Route des Cretes which somehow squeezes in between the two main routes, without quite falling down the precipice!

Both these photos are on the northern route near the eastern end, not far from the Point Sublime.
