With the Passo di Palade, this combines to offer an alternative to the flat orchards between Merano and Bolzano.
This is only a small climb from Fondo, but the east side is much bigger, mostly wooded but high up there is a dramatic section carved into a cliff overlooking the Alta Adige. The summit is a bit of a shocker!.
