This pass is marked by Lake Misurina, a very popular beauty spot in the Dolomites. Even when all other roads are quiet, the road beside this lake will be packed with day-trippers and coaches.
It is a long climb from Auronzo to the south-east, but less strenuous from Dobbiacco to the north.
From the pass a toll road leads east towards the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a very spectacular road and the highest tarmac in the Dolomites.
