A fortified town on the Route Napoleon, nestling in a spectacular cleft in the mountains.
The north end is attractive, and a good centre for a couple of days, the roads nearby are quite gentle.
To the right is a list of some of the places that are reachable in a day, the best of these are the Col de Fontbelle and the Signal de Lure.
