Southern French Alps
Notable for the initial climb out of Entrevaux to the north, with good views of the remarkable ramparts and fortifications of this old town. The south-west side is very steep, probably 14% in places.
See a better shot of the fortress here, which was taken not from this road but from a parallel route, the D610, actually the better road we think although it bypasses the col.
