This long ridge road south of Geneva looks very inviting on the map, but offers only some distant views of the Aravis range, with Mont Blanc behind. You need a clear day.
It's quite a big climb from lake level (about 380m) to the highest points which are about 1300m, the road leading south from the central pass at La Croisette (1176m) is the best section.
