This is very steep in places, and has a few unsurfaced but easily rideable stretches low on the east side near Meiringen. Also some 'interesting' electrified barriers across the road. It's quite busy, with lots of buses. There is a terrific view of the Eiger from the top.
Near Meiringen the climb passes the Reichenbach Falls, made famous by Conan Doyle as the place where Holmes fell. Worth a small detour for a closer look. Meiringen itself is full of Sherlock Holmes kitsch.
