The west side is easy, with some tunnels including a long unlit one near the summit. The east side is long and steep - difficult both to climb and to descend. This photo was snatched at the summit during the Dolomite Marathon.
This pass runs close to the Marmolada, highest mountain in the area and with the only permanent snowfields in the vicinity.
