Another road which is the most westerly of its height, in the 'Alps'.

As the name suggests, its an area of France which is full of WWII resonances.

Its a mostly wooded route, but the views when they do occur are much better on this eastern side of the col.

The picture below shows the road junction at the hamlet of Leoncel, at the west end of the col, with Tourniol behind us, Bataille ahead, Limouches to the right, and Combe Laval and the Goulets to the left.
It would be a good place for a roadside bar, and, happily, there is one.
